Abstract

During the summers of 2006 and 2007 morphodynamic data, images from an Argus System, and lifeguards rescue data were analyzed on Cassino beach with the aim to identify the most hazardous situations for bathing purpose. The beach with tridimensional morphology were identified as the most dangerous, since in these situations it was recorded a great variability in the subaqueous morphology. The results suggest that bathing accidents are more related to the users attitude than with natural hazards, which implies the need of emphasize preventive education as a way to reduce the number of accidents.
