This article presents the results of a study carried out among managers, which sought to understand the learning process based on their experiences. The study used a phenomenological method. From the analysis of the results, five dimensions emerged which influence learning: the family, the school, the community, life as an employee and life as a manager. It was evident that during the learning process for the managerial role, a transformation took place in the perspectives of meanings and schemes of those interviewed. The managers demonstrated awareness that this transformation brought with it greater responsibility. The study suggests that the genesis of the managers' learning process takes place in the social context.Downloads
