Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the relation between distance-learning activities in a course of Statistics Applied to Business Administration and its students’ performance in the exams. This article consists of a quantitative and descriptive research based on a field study. The regression analysis revealed that during the first phase of the course, the discussions at the internet forum and the practical assignments influenced the students’ performance positively. In the second part, only one practical assignment and a forum influenced the exam grades. The cluster analysis identified four groups of students with the following performances: excellent, good, average and unsatisfactory. The results indicated that other variables besides the distance-learning activities determine a students’ performance in the course.
