Abstract

This article aims to point out the associations that exist between the dominant theory of open innovation, moving from a global perspective to the National reality. At the same time, it seeks to present gaps in the theory of open innovation. The question that guided the research was: What are the theoretical currents that support the implementation of open innovation in LPAs in Brazil? The exploratory research methodology was used, with a qualitative approach, in the form of a theoretical essay. The initial research results indicate that the concept of open innovation needs to be more applicable to LPAs in Brazil.
