The release of this journal, linked to the Postgraduate program of Tourism and Hotel management of Univali, maxim CAPES concept, was due to the necessity of an international journal of applied sciences for the tourism area.

In view of the competitiveness market of tourism, hospitality and gastronomy, the role of the teaching institutions overlap the academic realm. The necessity of a high qualified professional and in tune with the market is not a diferencial, but part as the basic profile os the academic in tourism.

Realizing the importance of functional content with the academic formation, Applied Tourism aims to promote cientific production, with focus on publication of the applied knoledge, that results in useful soolutions for the tourism industry.

The journal scopus covers academic papers that posseses funcional tools and with results, aiming to contribute to a database of cientifict papers os applied carachter to tourism, hospitality and gastronomy, for such areas are in need of journal of such aproach.

We are open to submissions in direct form on both languages (english and portuguese) with a quarterly distribution of ten papers per edition.
