Internationalization is a strategy used by companies to increase their presence in the international market. The resources are linked to the internationalization strategies, to determine the relationship between them. For the theoretical basis, the resource classifications (FAHY, 2002) and internationalization strategies (SHARMA and ERRAMILLI, 2004) were used. It focuses on the dynamic nature of the RBV. The data collected relate to 2004 and 2005, with 15 companies from the Brazilian footwear sector. It concludes that the companies that use more complex internationalization strategies, on entry to the international market and in the future, consider capacity, tangible resources and intangible resources to be more strategic, in that order. However, in the current context, skills, intangible resources and tangible resources, respectively, are considered more strategic.Downloads
