The education system, educators and researchers have been accumulating experience and have produced a signifi cant academic production, generated by concerns and by the search for alternatives for the treatment of the phenomenon of multiculturalism in the fi eld of education. Added to this is the effort to understand, propose and test proposals for teacher training, so they can respond positively and effectively to their role as educators in cultural, social and economic contexts. The proposal of these work places the production as a fi eld of research, anchored in the environment provided by the Grupo de Investigación en Educación Intercultural (GREDI) of the University of Barcelona. It focuses on investigating the model of intercultural citizenship advocated by the group, and fi nding contributions to the processes of training for intercultural citizenship. The role-play of citizenship requires spaces of democratic experience, and it is precisely in this aspect that education brings opportunities for making citizens’ actions feasible. Teaching education that takes this scenario into consideration guarantees its role and contributes to social transformation, based on the training of future generations in the present.Downloads
