PSYCHOLOGY OF EDUCATION IN TEACHER EDUCATION
Keywords:
Educational psychology, Teacher education.Abstract
This article brings some considerations on the function of Educational Psychology for teacher education, based on the author’s teaching experience in a private institution in the interior of the State of São Paulo. We believe it is important to select those theoretical contents that can both guarantee a global view of the theory, and support the teacher’s work. This practice includes both the analyses of students behavior and the planning of activities, such as educational experiments in the classroom. It seeks to adjust teaching to the characteristics and development needs of the students. Finally, we discuss the teaching strategy of the discipline, which includes four stages: a reading of theoretical articles, a review of the concepts and theoretical principles, extracting the psycho-pedagogical principles from the theory and applying those principlesDownloads
