CREATIVITY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SCHOOL: the creative teacher and the creative environment

Abstract

Creativity is a word which is widely used, with many meanings. Its concept is complex, multifaceted and little explored. In spite of this, its importance in today’s world is unquestionable, particularly in the educational context, where creativity must fl ourish. The contemporary world requires creative teachers who form creative pupils. This article describes characteristics of these teachers and of an environment that facilitates creativity in schools. It also presents some studies on the characteristics of creative teachers.
