The objective of this study was to understand how the children used their body movement to communicate their learning. For this purpose, we selected a private school in Curitiba that, through the project pedagogy, considered the children as protagonists of their learning. The instruments for the production of data for this research were: participant observation, a group interview, and a resource called JPEG converter, which enabled videos to be converted into photographic images. Analysis of the enabled us to identify three types of movements in the children’s communication: spontaneous movement of the child's body, body movement as support for the speech, and the intentional movement: the childlike gesture. The aim of this article is to present the methodological trajectory of research, as well as discussions and reflections on children’s body movements their gestures in the process of communication of learning.
