Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • This is an academic/scientific article.
  • The theme of the work is directly related to tourism and its related areas.
  • The work has not been published in its entirety in any other publication medium (except publication as an academic work - eg dissertation or thesis).
  • The work is not in the process of being evaluated for publication in any other journal or vehicle.
  • The description of any potential conflict of interest of the authors pertinent to the publication of this article will be made in the field "Comments to the editor"
  • The structure and formatting of the work follow the TVA Guidelines for Authors and in the journal template.
  • The list of authors only includes the names of those who significantly contributed to the research in one or more of the following steps: research design, literature review, data collection, data analysis and/or results.
  • If the article has more than 4 authors, a justification of the number of authors must be included in the "Comments for the editor" field for evaluation and acceptance.
  • All authors must be registered as authors in the TVA electronic editorial system and undertake to act as evaluators of articles submitted to the TVA when invited.
  • Author information registered in the system is correct and up to date.
  • The authors undertake to make corrections and adjustments if requested at any stage of the submission process.
  • Make sure the article is not a bibliometrics.
  • Ensure that you do not have another article published or in the evaluation process in TVA during the current year.

Author Guidelines

The scientific article submitted must be unpublished, that is, it has not been published in any other national or international journal, as well as in annals of events and/or book chapters of any nature. The submitted article must not be under evaluation process for publication in another journal, whether national or international. This condition must be maintained throughout the submission process, waiting for and final response by the TVA. With regard to the number of authors, the TVA restricts the maximum number of 4 authors per article. The submission of articles to the journal must be authored by researchers in the field of Tourism. At least one of the authors must have a master's or doctoral degree. Works with funding from municipal, state or federal public agencies must be indicated in the introduction to the article. The limit of one article published in the journal every two years must be respected.

Prerequisite for publications: Only works in scientific article format will be accepted, respecting the rules described below:

1. Basic guidelines:

1.1 The wording of the article, when in our language, must comply with the rules of the last Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement.

1.2 The bibliography of the article must be consistent and also show the position of foreign scholars on the subject.

1.3 The submitted file must be in WORD FORMAT (.doc or .docx), without any identification of authorship. Articles must be sent as  Review Version without names or information about their authors. This information must also be removed from Document Properties (In Word, click on  File Menu - Information -  Inspect Document -  Remove Properties ).

1.4 Upon submission, complete information about the author and co-authors must be registered in the Contributors, Metadata field. ALL authors must be registered on the TVA website, as readers and authors.

1.5 The identification of the authors and institution MUST NOT BE INSERTED IN THE BODY OF THE MANUSCRIPT to guarantee confidentiality in the evaluation process. Under no circumstances will the inclusion of an author be accepted after submission.

2. Nature and basic structuring elements of the Articles:

2.1 The articles must be unpublished, written in Portuguese, English or Spanish, and comply with the following content and order: Title; Abstract (in Portuguese, English or Spanish, for those articles written in that language); Key words; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Bibliographic review/Theoretical foundation/State of the Art; Methodology; Results/Discussions; Final considerations; and, References from cited sources (not numbered).

2.2 These topics must be clearly highlighted/specified throughout the text. Subtitles, if any, should be concise and clearly indicated.

2.3 Abstract and Abstract must have a maximum of 200 words, highlighting objectives, methodology and synthesis of results and final considerations.

2.4 Indication of at least three keywords, which must reflect the elementary ideas of the text, in addition to using usual descriptors in the area of ​​tourism and the like.

2.5 Explanatory notes should be reduced to the minimum necessary and presented at the end of each page, and included in the text. Attention: Footnotes are not allowed.

2.6 The citations present in the body of the work and the corresponding references at the end of it must comply with the current American Psychological Association (APA) standards.

2.7 Illustrations and tables must present the title, source and must be placed in the body of the text, in compliance with the APA standards, in force.

2.8 If photos are used, people cannot be identified unless they have formal permission.

2.9 In the final version of the article for publication it must contain the information of individual contribution of each author in the construction of the same.

Very important: Make sure your references are complete and APA style. For example, if the articles in the REFERENCE list include the author(s) name(s), date, title, journal name, volume, issue and pages. References or citations made throughout the text should be included in the REFERENCES at the end of the work. This list of REFERENCES can only include authors and works cited or referred to in the text. Models from other authors can be included in the text ONLY when new content is added, enriching the original model.

3. Responsibility: Signed articles are the sole responsibility of the authors. The content of the signed articles does not reflect the opinion of the TVA.

4. Elementary article structure settings:

4.1 Source: Arial/Calibri, 14 (article title), 12 (text), 10 (indented citations and notes);

4.2 Space between lines: 1.5; 4.3 Margins: 3 cm (top and left); 2 cm (bottom and right);

4.4 Sheet: A4;

4.5 Text editor: Word Windows 6.0 or later;

4.6 Paragraph: posterior and anterior spacing: 0 points;

4.7 Alignment: justified.

5. Size of articles: Articles must have a minimum of 18 (eighteen) and a maximum of 25 (twenty-five) pages.

6. Authorship of articles: The final version of approved manuscripts must contain a note at the end of the text identifying the contribution of each author in the development of the research. Contributions must comply with CRediTCasrai.

7. Conflict of Interest for Authors: Authors must explicitly and individually declare to the editor (available on the submission page) any potential financial, direct and/or indirect, non-financial, etc., conflict of interest, as well as any conflict of interest with ad hoc reviewers, when applicable, at the time of article submission and/or during the evaluation process.

8. Notification of the submission result: Authors will be notified about the result of the evaluation of their articles by e-mail, which may occur in 4 situations: accepted for publication; accepted with corrections, mandatory corrections and resubmission, or rejection. In cases of acceptance with corrections, the authors will receive guidance from the evaluators for the appropriate corrections, which must be met within the deadline established by the journal. If the deadlines are not met, the article will be withdrawn from the process and a new submission must be made by the authors.

Processo de Avaliação pelos Pares

A TVA conta com um corpo editorial permanente e avaliadores ad hoc. Tanto os membros do corpo editorial quanto os avaliadores ad hoc são pesquisadores, doutores, reconhecidos pela comunidade acadêmica. O processo de avaliação das submissões consiste das etapas:

 

1) Avaliação Desk Review realizada pelo Editor Geral e Assistentes de Editoração
Esse processo visa identificar se o artigo atende aos requisitos de foco e escopo da revista e se os resultados atingem o nível de significância relevante para a pesquisa em turismo e hotelaria. Em seguida, o artigo será verificado num detector de plágio, para confirmação do ineditismo, sendo que, para ser aceito, o artigo não pode ter mais do que 3% de coincidências.
Esse processo ocorre em no máximo 20 dias, sendo que o(s) autor(es) serão informados, por e-mail, se o artigo: a) irá para a etapa seguinte de avaliação; b) ajustes devem ser realizados e uma nova submissão deverá ser feita; c) não há interesse de publicação para a revista.

 

2) Etapa de avaliação Double-blind Review.
Nesta etapa, o artigo será encaminhado para, no mínimo, dois avaliadores do quadro da TVA, sem a identificação de autoria (Double-blind review process), que avaliarão o material conforme formulário específico disponível no sistema. O retorno da avaliação é via sistema, sendo solicitado um prazo médio de 30 dias. Em caso de pareceres contraditórios, o trabalho será encaminhado a um terceiro avaliador.
No caso de análise pelo terceiro avaliador, caberá aos Editores a definição final sobre a publicação.
Os autores poderão acompanhar o processo de avaliação na área de submissão, na página da revista.

 

3) Decisão editorial
Após o recebimento das avaliações pelos editores, uma decisão será tomada: a) Aceitar. b) Correções obrigatórias; c) Submeter para uma nova rodada; ou d) Rejeitar.
(a) Se a decisão for Aceitar, os autores serão comunicados e encaminhadas as orientações para ajustes, melhorias de conteúdo e/ou forma, revisão gramatical e ortográficas, se necessárias.
(b) Se for Correções obrigatórias e nova rodada, será encaminhado para os autores um e-mail com as orientações dos avaliadores para as devidas correções e ajustes, que deverão ser atendidas no prazo estabelecido. As correções devem estar destacadas no texto e este ser postado no sistema como Documento Suplementar, na primeira submissão.
No caso de uma nova rodada, o artigo será encaminhado para nova avaliação por dois avaliadores, podendo ser os mesmos que realizaram a primeira avaliação.
Se após as verificações for constatada a realização das recomendações pelos avaliadores, o artigo será Aceito, procedendo-se conforme o item (a).
(c) Se for Rejeitar, os autores serão informados, via e-mail, com uma síntese das avaliações, destacando os pontos críticos que levaram à decisão. Neste caso, se for de interesse dos autores, eles poderão, após as adequações recomendadas, realizarem uma nova submissão.

 

4) Aprovação para publicação
Somente após avaliação das melhorias de conteúdo, solicitadas pela TVA, o artigo será aprovado para publicação.
Neste caso, será encaminhada a Ficha de Autor, para ser preenchida com os dados pessoais e profissionais do(s) autor(es), sendo: nome completo, titulação, instituição, faculdade e departamento, cidade, estado, país, e-mail, ORCID e mini-currículo. Bem como a indicação da participação individual na construção do artigo.
Uma versão final traduzida em Inglês ou Espanhol será solicitada (versão final com ofício comprovando credenciais do tradutor), sob encargo do(s) autor(es). Esta versão é opcional, caso o autor desejar a publicação na outra língua.

 

Periodicidade

 

Quadrimestral. Os números serão publicados, no primeiro mês do período (janeiro/abril - maio/agosto – setembro/dezembro) de cada ano.
