Abstract

The landscape plays an important role, as it is the main indicator of physical change in the environment, and the one that is first perceived by the tourist. As it is the first contact the tourist has with the place he is visiting, we can consider the landscape as being at the heart of a location’s tourism attractiveness. The landscape is what is seen in a particular place, the way in which the space is arranged, and the range of geographical elements in a place. Landscape can be classified as either natural or urban. As it is a representation of the space, the landscape is a dynamic element that is transformed over time. This article seeks to analyze the urban landscape of Irati – Paraná, as a tourism attraction. Its results indicate its significance as a tourism resource. Key words: Landscape; Urban Landscape; Tourism; Irati.
