Abstract

This work shows the results of a study which sought to determine the expression of creativity in guest houses in the island of Florianópolis. The research included the participation of guests, staff and managers of three guesthouses. For this article, the results of just one guesthouse are presented. The multiple case study, with a predominantly qualitative approach, was based on the reports of the subjects who took part in the research, and the understanding of the manifestation of creativity, in two aspects: the product and organizational management. For the investigation, the following techniques were used: semi-structured interviews, direct observation and documentary analysis, life history and questionnaires with open and closed questions. The data was analyzed by means of content analysis. The results show that in the guesthouse analyzed, the products show characteristics of originality, and the organizational management is a combination of both innovative and traditional administrative practices. Key words: Creativity. Means of Accommodation. Tourism.
