Tourism signage and perception of geographical space

Abstract

This article highlights the importance of tourism signage for the organization of host localities, information and orientation of the local inhabitants and visitors. By revealing the characteristics of the locale, signs provide various alternatives for routes and use of the attractions. In this way, they contribute to the valorization, conservation and divulgation of the locality, with an educational focus, making them a valuable reference for the development of local tourism.
