DOCUMENTARY AND THEORETICAL BASES OF LEISURE IN BRAZIL

Abstract

This article systematizes the partial results of the exploratory-descriptive Masters Degree dissertation entitled Pesquisa Científica em Lazer no Brasil – Bases Documentais e Teóricas (Scientific Research in Leisure in Brazil – Documentary and Theoretical Bases) defended at the School of Communications andArts of the University of São Paulo (ECA/USP). Based on the methodology developed and applied by Rejowski (1993), it presents a synthesis of scientific production in the area of leisure, based on general characterization and disciplinary and thematic analysis. It describes the bibliographic references of theses which relate to leisure, identifying the documentary bases on which these studies are founded. In the final considerations, it reinforces the main results, offering recommendations for the development of the area.
