Abstract

This work is based on the importance of children’s exposure to literature, through the act of reading, telling and hearing stories, for the possibility of human formation. This article therefore reflects on the importance of children's literature for the appropriation of socially constructed knowledge by young readers. Considering that the genre of children’s story is full of characters that enchant children, the work The jolly postman by Janet Ahlberg & Allan Ahlberg was selected, to demonstrate the insertion of the real and/or unusual, as well as the intertextual relations with the wonderful tales present in the plot.

Doutoranda em Educação UNESP - Presidente Prudente. Mestrado em Educação pela UFMT. Professora da rede básica de ensino no Estado  de Mato Grosso (SEDUC), atuando como Formadora no CEFAPRO de Primavera do Leste/MT.Integrante do grupo de pesquisa Formação de professores e as relações entre as práticas educativas em leitura, literatura e avaliação do texto literário.

Renata Junqueira de Souza, Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - Presidente Prudente

Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1987) , mestrado em Linguística e Letras pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (1990) , doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2000), pós-doutorado pela University of British Columbia (2001) e pela Ohio State University (2005). Atualmente é livre-docente na Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, professor visitante da Universidade do Minho e Coordenadora do Centro de Estudos em Leitura e Literatura Infantil e Juvenil (CELLIJ).
