University and training in multicultural environmental education: initial refl ections

This article focuses on the theoretical and methodological perspectives of Multiculturalism and Environmental Education, taking into consideration the urgency of these topics among educators, researchers and universities. It takes the premise that Education, as a social practice and promoter of democratic citizenship, should be guided by multicultural purposes. Environmental Education is one of the dimensions of Education that can contribute signifi cantly to the advance of sociocultural practices. This perspective leads the university to think of strategies educational strategies in order to professionally develop and endow educators with an interdisciplinary and complex view of the world, within the context of environmental multicultural education.Downloads
