Abstract

The article aims to give visibility to the emergence and incorporation of social and environmental sustainability at Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões – URI. It is the result of a search of official documents and the compilation of some projects and practices developed by the University throughout its existence. Initially, we demonstrate how URI has taken on, and dealt with issue of sustainability in its documents and policies. Secondly, we present some of the practices and experiences developed, that show the scope of what has been happening in terms of greening of the curriculum, research, extension, and university management. Finally, we point out the importance of participation in projects such as RISU, which enables an assessment of the current situation, and the University’s commitment to sustainability, contributing

Elisabete Maria Zanin, Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões

Licenciada em Biologia, Mestre em Biologia e Doutora em Ciências. Diretora Acadêmica da URI Erechim e docente do PPG Ecologia. Atua nas áreas de Planejamento Ambiental em Áreas Protegidas; Recuperação de Áreas Degradadas; Arborização Urbana; Florística e fitossociologia e Percepção Ambiental.
