The partnership between the PNMT and the program Meu Negócio é Turismo in the State of Santa Catarina: a case study

Abstract

This work consists of a case study of the partnership between the Programa Nacional de Municipalizaçao do Turismo (PNMT) (National Tourism Municipalization Program), through the PNMT State Committee for Santa Catarina, and the program "Meu Negócio é Turismo"(My Business is Tourism), promoted by the Ministry of Labor and Employment and coordinated, in this State, by the Secretary of State for Social and Family Development, with the aim of qualifying the tourism industry workforce. Supported by the University of Vale do Itajaí, and using methodological techniques for the data collection, more specifically, through observation and the application of questionnaires, it was possible to accompany the implementation of the program "Meu Negócio é Turismo" in Santa Catarina, thereby obtaining the necessary data for an analysis of this partnership in the State, and of the results obtained from the program "Meu Negócio é Turismo" in the State of Santa Catarina during the year 2002.
