Abstract

In keeping with cultures, along with living standards driven by the moment, society is going through a period of rapid change. Among the changes, the school sees the integration and improvement of pedagogical tools, and some of these resources can help ensure that one group has its special educational needs recognized - subjects with high abilities or giftedness. This research - which is characterized as qualitative and descriptive and uses the case study methodology - investigates how people with high ability/giftedness report the infl uence of the school. The results indicate that the points of convergence between the impacts of the period of schooling and the current experiences of the subjects caused them to seek opportunities according to their learning needs, or deny the existence of those needs, among other aspects.
