Interfaces in the literacy process: logic-mathematization as a support for acquiring reading and writing skills

The article seeks to clarify, for students of undergraduate in Pedagogy, the interdependence between the construction of the process reading and writing, and the development of logical-mathematical reasoning, and to emphasize the importance of this knowledge for teachers working in the fi nal stage of the Early Childhood Education and the fi rst year of elementary school. Thus, pre-literacy mathematics provides support for the acquisition of literacy in a wider sense. The arguments used are based on the theories of Piaget and Ferreiro, and on the studies of Lima and Machado.Downloads
