Abstract

The goal of this research was to investigate the pedagogical use of software during classes in the public schools of Sinop, Mato Grosso, Brazil. The teachers’ discourses were obtained through semi-directed interviews. The analyses demonstrated that the practices of the teachers who used the technological resources of computer laboratories are presented as activities of memorization, data interpretation and assessment of content. This evidence demonstrates that the computer itself motivates and promotes the dynamics of the educational process in the computer laboratory, suggesting a need to include topics, in the curriculum of teacher training courses that will better prepare these professionals for pedagogical practices involving the use the computer as a pedagogical tool.
